The seven greenish-blue glass vessels recently acquired by TMA hail from the Toledo Workshops, two seminal events held in 1962 which would serve as the cradle of the American Studio Glass Movement. The vessels donated by Pat McGlauchlin, wife of the late Tom McGlauchlin, and by Toledoan Edith Franklin are among the few surviving works from the group’s experiments in glass.
Seven Glass Vessels Acquired
I am so thrilled to see that the TMA has acquired these vessels! I was very fortunate to spend some time with Harvey Littleton at the Littleton compound a few years ago, and got to handle some of the other pieces from the workshops.
