The Toledo Museum of Art showcases works by Leslie Adams, the first recipient of the Solo Exhibition Award of the 93rd Toledo Area Artists Exhibition in 2011. Leslie Adams: Drawn from Life, on display Oct. 19 through Jan. 13, 2013 in Gallery 18, highlights the artist’s approximately 20 new works which incorporate Old Master painting compositions and drawing techniques with a contemporary portrayal of memory and autobiography. The show features some of Adams’ charcoal drawings focusing on her biography and memories of people and places that have influenced her work—including the TMA, where she took classes as a young girl. The solo exhibition is part of a fall season of portraiture headlined by Manet: Portraying Life. Admission is free.
