Our newly renovated main parking lot is complete. The good news is that we have beautiful, safe parking with a solar power-generating canopy that offers partial protection from the elements, a sidewalk with automatic ice melting features, and much better handicap accessibility. The new solar array can generate up to 30 percent of the power needed in our main museum on a sunny day. In addition, we have plug in stations for two electric cars.

The less good news is that our longstanding $5 parking fee will go back into effect tomorrow (November 2). Parking is no longer free. Members can exit the lot by waving their new smart membership cards or picking up an exit ticket at the information desk if they have not renewed since September. The public can purchase an exit ticket or use a credit/debit card in the machine to exit. No cash or tokens will be accepted by the new machines in Lot 1 (main lot) and Lot 6 (Glass Pavilion).
