TMA has acquired Spiegel, a large, two-part stainless steel sculpture by acclaimed Spanish sculptor Jaume Plensa. Showcased last year at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in West Bretton, Wakefield, UK, the work is installed in the Welles Sculpture Garden near the intersection of Monroe Street and Collingwood. The word spiegel means reflective image in German, and the sculpture features two identical human figures mirroring one another, each measuring just over 12 feet high and lit from within.. Created in 2010, it is made of white-painted steel latticework consisting of individual letters welded together from eight alphabets. Read more here.
