In observance of the Passover season, three contemporary haggadot will be on display March 19–April 7 in Gallery 8. The Haggadah—Hebrew for “telling”—is a text containing prayers, Bible passages and songs used during the Jewish festival of Passover. The focus exhibition features three modern haggadot from the Museum’s collection of Modern and Contemporary artists’ books. On April 7, Ira Steingroot, an authority on haggadot, will give a free presentation at 2 p.m. in the Little Theater. Admission to the Museum and these special events is free. Copies of Steingroot’s book will be available for purchase in the Museum Store. Click here to read more.
