The Toledo Museum of Art has received a grant to partially fund a staff position responsible for TMA programming. Through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the Museum was awarded a $15,000 Northwest Ohio Arts Jobs Preservation Grant to continue the work of a position that was cut back in 2009 due to budgetary shortfalls.
The position, which is responsible for the planning and implementation of public and educational
programming at the Museum, is critical to the fulfillment of the Museum’s mission of integrating art into the lives of people. The funding will last until September 2010 when TMA is prepared to sustain the position full time.
The Toledo Museum of Art is one of 16 area organizations to receive such a grant administered through the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo. The ACGT was awarded funds from the National Endowment of the Arts to re-grant to arts organizations to fund lost positions or retain current ones that are critical to the work of the organization.
