In 2016, the Toledo Museum of Art announced that it had acquired the Museum Place Residences, an almost 3-acre parcel at the intersection of Collingwood and Monroe Streets that is adjacent to the Museum’s campus. The apartment complex consists of five buildings, three of which are on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Museum organized ten community conversations from November 2017 through April 2018 to answer questions about the acquisition. Community members and Museum stakeholders were invited to attend and provide feedback on how to best utilize the buildings.

Moving forward, the Museum will involve the public in the future of the properties and keep the community informed when there are updates.

Please review the full notes from the Museum Place community conversations which were held in locations like local library branches, nonprofits, and the Museum itself. Participants included families, teens, teachers, retirees, neighborhood groups and local businesses, artists, and other Museum stakeholders.
