The Bead Goes On is a community art project organized by the Toledo Museum of Art. Our goal is to collect 10,000 handmade beads in a variety of materials and assemble them into a bead “curtain” that will be installed in the Museum.

We hope to produce one stunning work of art through the creative expression of thousands of artists, enthusiasts, community members, adults and children.

Materials accepted include but are not limited to glass, pottery, metal, polymer clay, felt, and painted wood (kiln-fired only). Only beads created or decorated by the participant will be accepted (no store-bought beads please).

Submission deadline is October 2010. Please note that beads contributed to the Bead Goes On curtain will not be returned.

Not a bead maker? Take a TMA Art Hour, glass flameworking class, or other workshop to learn some of the ways beads can be made.

See the Bead Goes On prospectus and entry form below for additional guidelines and submission information.
