Gift of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Orser, 1990.80Eugène Bléry is admired for the detailed naturalism in his etchings of plants, foliage, and landscapes. He is also credited with contributing to the mid-19th-century revival of etching, a technique which had suffered after the daunting achievements of 17th-century artists such as Rembrandt. He taught Charles Meryon (1821–1868), who is featured with six prints in this exhibition.
