“Second Generation” Studio Glass Artists

One of the most important outcomes of the Toledo Workshops was the establishment of university programs for glassblowing. As glass artist Fritz Dreisbach observed, “The big difference between glass before 1962 and what happened after can be defined in one word: ‘Education’.” Through these nascent programs came a new generation of enthusiastic studio glass artists, many of whom themselves went on to teach.
