This oval would be best appreciated in dim light
With one more luminous shone upon it
To render it like the night sky it depicts.
Then memory would kindle warm nights
Of stargazing as children
With fireflies our only companions.
We imagine just as we once did
What radiance burned
Behind those indiscreet tears in the blanket of night.
That captivating feeling
Rivaled only by fire, beckoning at a campsite
Sets our minds free
To wonder, enjoy, revere
What lies beyond our grasp
On the Otherside.
