The View

The view
from one red-sashed window leaning-
a tired tome needing support
Fantastic worlds and rollicking tales inscribed
in the steel bones of a city
in one city block
in one city, blocked
tilting precariously
between a dream and a
a jester’s harlequin tights
or tattered patchwork pants
dark, fluid calligraphy
or a villain’s inky eyebrows
A super spy’s zipline
or a villain’s trip wire
it’s just
a clothesline.
