Broken

Priceless broken cups are stuck to the canvas.
Waiting, to fall on my head.
Then I see you.
Broken pieces
Forced together
To create this picture.
I feel the pain,
The hurt.
Your life smashed up
Like broken china
Your porcelain eyes seem to stare
Straight ahead.
In a daydream.
Wishing things were different.
Your scattered remains
Litter the canvas.
Heart-breaking memories of the life you had.
Shattered dreams too fragile
To keep alive.
Up close
The useless plates,
Fill the empty wall.
From far away,
Your life story has been told.
