Rated the number one Toledo attraction on TripAdvisor, the Toledo Museum of Art has a wealth of “bucket list” sights and experiences that are a perfect fit for a larger itinerary or a quick stop on the way to your next destination. From ancient Egyptian artifacts to paintings by Rembrandt, Van Gogh and Picasso, the Museum’s 30,000-strong art collection ranks among the finest in the U.S. And as the birthplace of the Studio Glass Movement, it keeps this heritage alive with daily glassblowing demonstrations that show the magic—and mystery—behind this beautiful art form, and gives visitors an opportunity to experience glassblowing firsthand with private sessions. The best part? Admission is FREE.
School tours can find more info and request forms here.
Whether you’d like to spend an afternoon or stop by on the way to your next destination, your group can explore as independently as they wish or enhance the experience with these options:
1. A docent (Museum art expert) to guide your tour.
2. Dine at the Museum Café, order a catered lunch in a private room, or take boxed lunches to eat on the road.
3. Watch a glassblowing demonstration or schedule the group to participate in a hands-on glassblowing experience.
The Toledo Museum of Art store features a diverse and delightful selection of unique merchandise and specialty gifts travelers will be thrilled to bring home.
