Multiple Visit Program
Enhance your curriculum and deepen students’ Visual Literacy skills and learning experiences with multiple visits (typically 2 to 4) that are thematically related to your subject matter. Because students visit more than once, this program provides more opportunities to foster Visual Literacy and relate class content to art. When your request is received, the Docent Program Assistant will get back to you to set up the various dates and topics.
Ekphrastic Writing Program
Writing about art enhances students’ visual perceptions while writing poetry and engaging with works of art. Written works may be submitted to the Museum’s sixth annual Ekphrastic Writing Contest in which winning submissions are published and displayed in the galleries. Participating in a Docent-led tour is a prerequisite for entering the Ekphrastic Writing Contest. Deadline for tours is February 28, 2014. Entries must be received by March 27, 2014. The Awards ceremony is May 16, 2014 at 7 pm. Go to our website, toledomuseum.org/learn for entry forms and more information. Writings must be submitted in edited format. TMA is not responsible for editing.
