The Impatient Princess
At last tonight arrived —
It’s almost time to go —
The princess’s first ball!
But time continues to stall!
She feels as if forever
She has been standing here,
Restlessly leaning on this chair
While her mother arranges her hair.
The impatient Princess waited for hours
For her father to finish his canvas.
She wanted to see what he was painting
And couldn’t believe how long he was taking!
At last, he stood up in amazement,
Admiring the work he had done.
But his daughter froze as 10 o’clock struck —
She missed the ball– royally bad luck!
