The End of the World

Darkness devours
A world we once knew;
We must accept
And start anew.

Lightning roars,
The ocean bends,
Mangled skies cannot
These people defend.

Warm sand is rinsed
Upon the shore;
The city fades
To nothing more.

Abandon it now,
A storm is at bay,
Each end a beginning,
And it all ends today.
