A special concert planned for late April in the Toledo Museum of Art’s GlasSalon has been postponed until October, as the Museum remains temporarily closed to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

TMA will welcome TERRY RILEY with Gyan Riley: Live at 85! on Oct. 30, 2020.

Riley, a California composer known as one of the founders of music’s Minimalist movement, will perform with his son Gyan, who accompanies him on guitar. Their performance celebrates Riley’s musical career, family and the joys of improvisation. This will be a rare opportunity to experience an evening with Riley’s hypnotic, multi-layered, polymetric and eastern-flavored improvisations.

The composer’s seminal work, In C (1964), changed the course of 20th-century music with a form based on interlocking repetitive patterns.

Tickets are $25 for members and $35 for nonmembers and are available at toledomuseum.org. Tickets already purchased for the April concert will be automatically transferred to the October performance date.
