New Collection Companion catalog now available at Toledo Museum of Art
The Toledo Museum of Art’s latest catalog, Collection Companion, featuring color photographs and information about 267 works of art, is now available in the Museum Store.
“It is a great representation of the quality and scope of the Toledo Museum of Art’s world-class collection,” said TMA Managing Editor Paula Reich. “It will be both a great souvenir and an engaging reference book that will allow visitors to gain a richer appreciation for the works of art.”
In addition to the individual and group entries, the guide contains an essay about the history of the Museum and the development of its collection, written by Director of Curatorial Affairs Halona Norton-Westbrook, as well as an essay about the development of the campus and buildings and their impact on the community, written by Edward Drummond and Florence Scott Libbey Director Brian Kennedy.
The book also features The Art of Seeing Art™, TMA’s process for looking carefully and exploring a work of art on a deeper level, illustrated with five thematic groupings using the Museum’s visual literacy methodology.
Collection Companion replaces the sold-out Masterworks collection highlight book that was first published in 2009. The price is $24.95.
