Toledo Museum of Art to celebrate art and love with Art Crush campaign
The Toledo Museum of Art (TMA) will host Art Crush from Feb. 13 to Feb. 16. A full slate of weekend activities celebrating art and love will offer something for everyone.
Beginning Thursday, Feb. 13, visitors to the Museum have the opportunity to pick up a paper heart when they enter the Museum and place it in front of their most-loved work of art. The most-loved winners will be announced on Monday.
“We know the Toledo region loves art, so the Museum wanted to do something special to celebrate art in a playful way,” said Stephanie Elton, TMA’s director of communication. “We all have our favorite works of art here at TMA and this gives the public a chance to express their love for the Toledo Museum of Art’s collection.”
Along with the voting with paper hearts, visitors who share pictures of their heart with their favorite work of art on Instagram and Twitter using #ArtCrushTMA will be eligible to win prizes including a pair of Shinola watches from Harold-Jaffee Jewelers, a four-hour trolley rental from Team Johnson, and two date night dinners from the Museum Café complete with desserts and a bottle of wine
In addition to the contests, visitors to the Museum can enjoy café specials as well as Wine by the Glass Pavillion Friday, Feb. 14 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets for the wine tasting are $35 for Museum members and $55 for nonmembers, plus tax.
After-hours flashlight tours will also take place Thursday, Feb. 13 and Friday, Feb. 14; both tours begin at 9:15 p.m. Flashlight tour tickets are $25 for Museum members, $30 for nonmembers, and $15 for students and military and can be purchased in advance at tickets.toledomuseum.org.
Glass blowing demonstrations will take place in the Glass Pavilion throughout Art Crush. The free demonstrations are scheduled at 2 and 8 p.m. on Thursday, 2, 7, and 8 p.m. on Friday, 1, 2, and 3 p.m. on Saturday and 1 and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
