Toledo Museum of Art invites couples to Fall in Love at TMA
Toledo Museum of Art is inviting couples to fall in love at the Museum this autumn with Thursday Happy Hours offering drink and dinner specials in the Museum Café.
Beginning Thursday, Oct. 10 and running each Thursday during the month of October the Museum Café will have a Happy Hour from 4 to 7 p.m., featuring a special drink menu that includes cocktails made with Toledo Spirits as well as beers from Earnest Brew Works. In addition to the drink specials, visitors can also buy one entrée and receive 50% off one entrée of equal or lesser value.
“The Toledo Museum of Art has everything you need for a perfect date night,” said Maricarmen Westmark, TMA’s special events and food services manager. “Whether it’s your first date or your fiftieth, TMA is a great place to get to know one another while enjoying each other’s company. And best of all, admission to the Museum is free.”
A selection of date-appropriate highlights from the collection are available in a TMA MyGuide.
“The Date Night MyGuide acts as a scavenger hunt, making even first-time visitors to the Museum comfortable as they explore the galleries,” Westmark said. “We like to say if things go well, we’re happy to take the credit but if not, you’re on your own,”
Whether couples are interested in meeting for drinks and a tour of the galleries or a full meal, the Museum Café has options for both.
October Happy Hour drink specials include four cocktails made with craft spirits from Toledo Spirits, including the Glass City Cosmopolitan, the Spiked Orchard, the Orange Cream Pop, and Midnight on the Maumee, made with Toledo Spirits’ East Side Gin, club soda, and blueberry syrup.
In addition, to Toledo Spirits cocktails, the Café will offer wine and beer at half off during Happy Hour.
Visitors can also select from one of the many new items on the fall/winter menu, launching that week. The menu features hearty, healthy dishes that appeal to a wide range of palates and include delicious options that allow for both vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets.
There are several dishes featuring the Café’s handmade gnocchi, including cabernet braised short rib gnocchi featuring butternut squash, caramelized pearl onions and cabernet demi; achiote grilled chicken gnocchi featuring avocado, black beans and corn salsa, sour cream, tomato and chimichurri; and mushroom braised carrots gnocchi with carrots, porcini, cremini, roasted red onion, parsley and mushroom gravy.
Admission to the Toledo Museum of Art is free. Parking is $8 for nonmembers.
