Quilting has a long tradition of using recycled fabric and remnants. This quilt by Lucy T. Pettway uses a multitude of salvaged fabrics to create this difficult Star pattern. The treatment of this quilt will consist of closing open seams, stabilizing holes and deteriorated fabrics, proper mounting sleeve, appropriate storage boxing and investigation of cleaning practices of Gee’s Bend quilts with a possible cleaning treatment after.
