Amirrezvani's novel is centered loosely around the life of Safavid princess Pari Khan Khanoom of 16th century Iran. Her story is one of a powerful woman in the Muslim world, navigating political intrigue & danger with the help of her beloved advisor & friend, a eunuch named Javaher. The story is told from his perspective & centers on his work with the princess.
