Art Book Club: Equal of the Sun

Join fellow art and book lovers for an exciting historical novel, Equal of the Sun, by Anita Amirrezvani.

This book selection coincides with the exhibition, Bestowing Beauty: Masterpieces from Persian Lands. Amirrezvani's novel is centered loosely around the life of Safavid princess Pari Khan Khanoom of 16th century Iran. Her story is one of a powerful woman in the Muslim world, navigating political intrigue & danger with the help of her beloved advisor & friend, a eunuch named Javaher. The story is told from his perspective & centers on his work with the princess. 

This two-part event is free, but space is limited and advanced registration is required

Part One (virtual): book discussion, May 4th from 5:30-7:00pm, Zoom
Part Two (in-person): docent-led tour of Bestowing Beauty, May 6th from 5:30-6:30pm, Main Museum
