This behind-the-scenes, after-hours workshop will provide Toledo area educators with tools and teaching strategies for using Visual Literacy and the Learning to Look thinking routine to support study of the biological sciences. The session will include an exclusive visit to the exhibition Rare and Wondrous: Birds in Art and Culture 1620–1820, Q & A session with exhibition curator and avid birder Paula Reich, and demonstrations of activities that can be used to teach close looking skills.
The session is designed for K-12 art and science educators. Participating teachers will receive a certificate of attendance, Visual Literacy Activity Card deck, and Teacher Resource packet. To support the collaborative aspect of this work, we are offering educators registered for any Art & … workshop the opportunity to bring a teaching partner or collaborating educator at no additional charge.
