Cristina Mittermeier learned the concept of responsible earth stewardship from her indigenous nanny as a child growing up in Mexico, and she explores that calling through the ways of life of four communities and their individual relationships with water—the Kayapó in the Amazon, the Inuit of Greenland, the First Nations people of British Columbia, and native Hawaiians.
Standing at Water’s Edge is the third event in the inaugural, three-part Nat Geo Live speaker series taking place at the Toledo Museum of Art in 2019. During event parking at TMA, guests will be asked to pay for parking in cash prior to entering the lots. Museum Members will be asked to show their membership card to receive free parking. Members unable to show their card will be asked to pay in cash and will be eligible for a refund by bringing their receipt to the Visitor Engagement desk within 7 days.
