Learning and education have been at the heart of the Toledo Museum of Art mission since day one. TMA has a long history of youth classes, artist workshops, and artist residencies. Today we offer even more ways to learn about art including tours, glassblowing demonstrations, and our popular Family Center.

Classes & Workshops
TMA offers Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring learning sessions. Art classes are offered for all ages and workshops are available for adults in areas such as 3D workshops, letterpress, painting, drawing, glassmaking, blacksmithing, and jewelry making. Our instructors are established artists that can work with a wide range of talent levels.
Family Center
The Family Center is designed for young children and their grown-ups to explore art together. Each session includes all the supplies needed to create a unique work of art inspired by the art and artists in TMA’s collections and special exhibitions.
Tours
We offer self-guided group tours as well as Docent-led group tour. We ask that all tour groups planning to visit the museum submit a request form so we can best prepare for your arrival.
Glass Studio
The Glass Studio offers glassblowing demonstrations, studio rentals, and an artist in residency program.
Library & Archives
The TMA Library & Archives welcomes all curious visitors, researchers, art enthusiasts, and students. Reflecting the Museum’s purpose of art education, the library collections focus on the Museum's works of art, exhibitions and history. In addition to serving Museum staff and members, the library serves both the public and the University of Toledo Art Department.
